Publishers concerned over copyright risk

Open letter from international publishers.

Groups representing publishers around the world have joined together to ask the EU to call for a 'clarification' of  the World Intellectual Property Organisation's (WIPO) Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights (SCCR).

The groups, including The International Publishers’ Association (IPA), the International Association of Scientific, Technical and Medical Publishers and the Federation of European Publishers (FEP), believe that the 'divergent views' of WIPO member states "risk severely prejudicing Europe’s creative industries and wider European interests".
