UK online security campaign

The UK government is to launch a major campaign to improve education around online security and cybercrime.

The public awareness campaign aims to improve the understanding of the issues across the general population and within buisnesses.

Acknowledging the young age at which many children are online, the campaign will be taken into primary and secondary schools.  The IT curriculum is changing, focusing more on security and coding.  The campaign will also target 'risky men' - a group that is seen to take a reckless attitude to posting personal details online.

The move also reflects the value of the internet to the UK's GDP and aims to improve awareness about cybersecurity in the UK's business community, in particular small businesses.
