Netherlands: call to lend e-books free of charge to young people

Politician calls for unrestricted access to the under 18s.


The Dutch Secretary of State for Education and Culture has stated that people under the age of 18 should be able to access e-books from public libraries free of charge.

Taking part in a parliamentary debate on libraries, The Secretary said that the lending of educational material and literature to the young should not be restricted by ending fees or other legal and financial barriers.
