Library of Congress launches National Screening Room

The National Screening Room digital collection aims to share items from the library's extensive holdings to as wide an audience as possible.

The collection spans 100+ years and offers a “broad range of historical and cultural audio-visual materials that will enrich education, scholarship and lifelong learning” (Mike Mashon, Library of Congress).

Many – but not all - of the films featured in the collection are in the public domain and are free to download as well as to watch.

A list of topics covered (so far) can be found here https://www.loc.gov/collections/national-screening-room/index/subject/
