EU Digital Single Market - details of first proposal

First proposal exploring cross border digital content due December 2015.

The European Commission has announced its first proposal in a package of digital single market reforms.

The first proposal is considering whether there is scope for an EU-wide harmonisation of rules covering the cross-border purchase of digital content.  The proposal will consider ways to reduce unfair contract terms and ways to ensure that consumers are protected from the purchase of defective goods online.

The European Commission’s Digital Single Market Strategy was published earlier this year.
