De Gruyter launches new division Sciendo

Sciendo provides publishing services and solutions to third parties.

The new division has its roots in De Gruyter Open, De Gruyter's open access business. In 2017, De Gruyter integrated the peer-reviewed open access journals published by De Gruyter Open into De Gruyter operations and the publishing services business is now being relaunched as Sciendo.

Sciendo provides services for journals and books (including open access) to academic and professional organisations and individual authors (It already publishes approximately 600 journals owned by universities and other institutions). It can support self-publishing authors and provide a complete service package, for example to conference organisers.

Sciendo is a subsidiary of De Gruyter but has its own editorial team and editorial policy.
