Twitter announces App Graph

Twitter's app graph will collect data on users' other apps.

Twitter has begun to roll out its app graph initiative which will scan information about other apps users have installed.  The aims include providing 'more relevant promoted content'.

Twitter explains that it is simply looking to identify the apps users have installed on their devices rather than any data held within the apps themselves.  It has also published information on how users can turn off app graph.

The social network wants to refine its targeted advertising capacity.
