Italy: Amazon partners with bookshop chain

Digital and physical reading offers to be 'blended'.

Amazon has partnered with Italian chain bookseller Giunti al Punto.

The chain will sell Amazon’s Kindle in its 170 stores and will launch an ‘Amazon-supported’ retail website later this year.

Amazon and Waterstones in the UK reached a similar affiliate agreement in 2012.

The model of e-reader companies partnering with bookshops is already popular in Italy, where Kobo is partnered with the Mondadori group, which owns 350 bookshops.
