De Gruyter Saur / IFLA Research Paper Award 2012

The winner of the De Gruyter Saur/ IFLA Research Paper Award 2012 has been announced.


The topic of this year's Award was 'Libraries and e-books - challenges and chances'. 

The winner was Adam Girard (a PhD student at the School of Information and Library Studies at University College Dublin.  His paper, 'E-books are Not Books: The Challenges and Chances in the New Media Context', focuses on how classifying e-books as new media (rather than as books) opens up new ways of thinking for librarians, publishers and other stakeholders.
