CoLRiC Conference programme published

The Council for Learning Resources in Colleges is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.


CoLRiC (The Council for Learning Resources in Colleges) is an independent organisation working with UK library and learning resources centre managers in further education, sixth form colleges and the HE in FE sector to enhance and maintain excellence in their services.

The 25th anniversary conference ‘The Road Travelled: Surviving and Flourishing 25 years on’ – will be held at University College Birmingham on Friday 22nd June 2018. The keynote speaker is Nick Poole, CEO of CILIP.

The day will also feature awards ceremonies, presentations and breakout sessions/workshops on a range of topics including:

  • Supporting literacy in a library context
  • Supporting numeracy in a library context
  • The Trailblazer Project – a new framework and associated qualification aimed at para-professionals
  • CILIP Information Literacy Group’s new definition for Information Literacy
  • Jisc – an update on the Staff Digital Capability pilot
  • The transition from further education to higher education
  • The importance of learning resource centres and library services in further education
