'Berlin Declaration' on future of digital press

European magazine publishers publish a five point appeal to policy makers.


The European Federation of Magazine Publishers represents 15,000 publishers in Europe.  It is asking for signatures to the 'Berlin Declaration' on the future of the digital press which calls for:

  • strong copyright protection
  • reduced VAT rates for online as well as printed press
  • fair competition and transparency in the digital world
  • freedom to innovate
  • no further legal obstacles to press freedom
