Short-Term Licenses to Parker Library on the Web Now Available

Starting April 2012, short-term licenses to Parker Library on Web are available to institutions.

Wiesbaden, Germany  ()

HARRASSOWITZ is pleased to announce that starting April 1, 2012, in addition to the one-year and perpetual access options, short-term licenses to Parker Library on the Web will also be offered.

Parker Library on the Web (http://www.harrassowitz.de/Parker_on_the_Web.html) is a collection of high-resolution digital images representing almost 200,000 manuscript pages in the world-famous Parker Library, a peerless collection of medieval manuscript materials fundamental to scholarship in a broad range of humanistic disciplines. It is the product of more than five years' joint work by Stanford University, Corpus Christi College and the University of Cambridge, accomplished with the generous support from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and additional support from the Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation.

The new subscription option is designed to give institutions the opportunity to review the database in more detail before committing to a longer term license. It may also be appropriate for institutions needing access for only a short period.  The option is limited to a one-time, 6-month license that cannot be renewed. However, the price of USD 1500 can be credited toward the purchase of a one-year license or perpetual access. As with the currently available options, access to the short-term license is via IP address or range of addresses. To review the license agreement, please visit the HARRASSOWITZ website at http://www.harrassowitz.de/documents/ParkerLibraryontheWebShortTermLicenseAgreement.pdf
