ProQuest Dialog™ Earns AIIP’s 2011 Technology Award

Information professionals present Dialog’s new search service with top honours.

Morrisville, North Carolina  ()

The Association of Independent Information Professionals (AIIP) has named ProQuest DialogTM, the search service specially designed for professional research, as the winner of its twelfth annual AIIP Technology Award. The award recognizes innovative products that enhance the working environment of the independent information professional and was presented at the Internet Librarian Conference in Monterey, CA.  ProQuest Dialog is a service of Dialog, a business unit of ProQuest.

"When ProQuest acquired Dialog in 2008, we pledged to reinvent and reinvigorate this classic information company.  The launch of ProQuest Dialog was a huge milestone in delivering against our vision," said Tim Wahlberg, ProQuest Vice President and General Manager of Dialog.  "It's tremendously rewarding for our new service to be recognized in this way by our core user community - information professionals.  An honor like this is very motivational for our team that is completely devoted to building a service that information professionals can always count on."

ProQuest Dialog simplifies searching across the unique breadth of content in Dialog® and DataStar®.  Its design is based on more than 24 months of research and testing- with multiple roles across organizations, from professional searchers to corporate end-users.  In one intuitive interface, ProQuest Dialog will provide guided search and browsing for end users while and precision search and results manipulation for professional searchers.  Among its advanced search features are automatic text translation of search results, left-hand truncation, iterative filtering and date histograms.
