Overcoming a Culture Clash - Towards Better Relationships with IT

Information professionals across sectors will recognise a consistent challenge which acts as a barrier to innovation and progress: poor or non-existent relations between information services and information technology.

London  ()

In order to identify best practice in this area and share it with the FreePint audience, FreePint launches its Research Focus "Strategic Alignment of Information Services and IT" this month. Research is at the heart of FreePint, the international research and consulting service for information and knowledge professionals.

Each calendar quarter the company focuses on a different area of information strategy and offers a powerful mix of articles, interviews, case studies, product reviews, webinars and Communities of Practice, along with original research from FreePint's Research department.

FreePint's director of research, Robin Neidorf, explains, "We believe alignment between Information Services and IT is one of the most urgent issues for businesses to work on in 2016. In nearly every research project we've undertaken over the last five years this has surfaced as a consistent?? challenge. It's far more than a niggling culture clash, it's a real block on innovation and progress and it's critical that we overcome it."

The Focus tackles issues such as how to:

  1. Shift the worldview around IS/IT relationships
  2. Build better relationships with our counterparts in IT
  3. Work together with IT to make the most of the opportunities the digital workplace offers.
