Emerald launches its first journals on-the-go app with Propeller Mobile

Emerald Group Publishing, a leading independent publisher of global research, is launching its first Publishing app with Propeller Mobile this month.

London  ()

Developed for Apple's iPhone and iPad, the Emerald app allows users to access Emerald's extensive library and read full text content. The readers can then share the content with their friends and colleagues via Facebook and Twitter.

The Emerald app can be downloaded from the Apple app store by clicking the following link.

It was designed and developed for Emerald by Propeller Mobile, the mobile unit of London-based communications company Propeller Group.

Specifically the app drives sales and subscriptions to Emeralds extensive library and enables users to:

Find what they need, when they need it by searching and browsing Emerald's extensive online content library of almost 100,000 journal articles covering global research with impact in business, society, public policy and education
Personalise their experience by using their Emerald profile to manage their marked lists and saved searches on-the-go
Spread the word! E-mail links to friends/colleagues and sharing content via built-in Facebook and Twitter functionality
Enhance their knowlege: Using their institution's Emerald subscription to read full text content through the integrated browser. Most content is available in easy-to-read PDF versions.
Daniel Prendergast, head of digital at Emerald, said: "With tablet and mobile phone usage on the rise, it was a logical step for us to offer our customers an app enabling them to read and share our journals. Propeller Mobile has an excellent and experienced app development team and they are able to combine creative and innovative solutions with technical know-how."

Propeller Group CEO, Martin Loat said, "Social Media and apps are becoming a huge part of everyone's life and as a leading publisher for journals, Emerald had to jump on this bandwagon. We are happy that Emerald chose us to develop this innovative app with social media integration."
