BIALL - Legal Information Conference and Exhibition

The British and Irish Association of Law Librarians (BIALL) will hold its 43rd Annual Study Conference and Exhibition in Belfast.

London  ()

The British and Irish Association of Law Librarians (BIALL) is pleased to announce that its 43rd Annual Study Conference and Exhibition is being held at The Europa Hotel, Belfast, from 14 to 16 June 2012. The Conference is the premier event for those working in the legal information sector.

The theme for this year's conference is No Frontiers: Crossing the Borders of Legal Information, and the programme will comprise presentations by invited speakers and BIALL's members.  Niamh Burns, Programme Coordinator reports "The Conference Committee is confident that all delegates, whatever their sector, whatever their seniority level will be tempted by the many instructive and engaging sessions on offer throughout the busy three days of Conference."

The Attorney General of Northern Ireland, Mr John Larkin, QC, will start proceedings with his Keynote Address, "Lines on Maps and Frontiers of Legal Research".  He will be followed by Professor John Morrison of Queen's University, Belfast, who will speak on "What Makes and Important Case?"

Law librarians from the US and Australia will also give presentations on legal resources in their respective jurisdictions.

A Pre-Conference Seminar on Finance for Non-Finance Personnel, led by Stuart Warner of Financial Fluency, is scheduled for the afternoon of Wednesday 13 June.

The Exhibition will provide delegates with an opportunity to meet representatives of some 30 publishers and suppliers and there will be opportunities to see demonstrations of new products of interest to the profession.
