ArabLit Quarterly publishes beautiful literary translations digitally

ArabLit Quarterly and Exact Editions are thrilled to announce the launch of a digital edition of the brand-new magazine.

London  ()

The first two issues of brand-new publication, ArabLit Quarterly, are now available on web, iOS and Android platforms in collaboration with digital publishing experts Exact Editions. Each subsequent issue will add value to the ever-growing digital archive, rendering it an indispensable resource for scholars, students and enthusiasts of Arab literature around the world.

The title brings together within its pages the English translations of short stories and poetry originally penned by Arabic-language writers. Some of the prestigious writers that have featured thus far include South Sudanese writer Stella Gaitano, Syrian short-story writer Zakariya Tamer and Palestinian poet Asmaa Azaizeh.

ArabLit Quarterly was launched in late 2018, propelled by the enthusiasm of the ArabLit website community, as well as listeners of the Bulaq podcast that examines the Arab region through the lens of literature. Each quarterly issue aims to bring out beautiful literary translations, new work by Arab artists and new forms of literary criticism that re-frame the discussions around Arabic literature, translation and art.

ArabLit Quarterly is available in the Exact Editions individual and institutional shops here:

Editor-in-chief Marcia Lynx said: "The new state-of-the-art digital edition enables our ever-expanding treasure trove of literary content to reach new international audiences. We're particularly excited about the opportunity to target the institutional market, as the stories and poems will prove invaluable for students of Arab studies."

Managing Director of Exact Editions, Daryl Rayner, commented: "Any individual who is interested in the world of Arab literature, whether from an academic or amateur perspective, will benefit from ArabLit Quarterly - especially as the archive will grow issue by issue."
