ALCTS Announces 2015 Winner of HARRASSOWITZ Leadership in Library Acquisitions Award

The Acquisitions Section of the Association for Library Collections & Technical Services (ALCTS) has announced the 2015 Winner of the HARRASSOWITZ Leadership in Library Acquisitions Award

Wiesbaden, Germany  ()

HARRASSOWITZ, international booksellers and subscription agents, is pleased to announce that the Acquisitions Section of the Association for Library Collections & Technical Services (ALCTS) has announced the 2015 Winner of the HARRASSOWITZ Leadership in Library Acquisitions Award. The ALCTS Award Jury has selected Michael Levine-Clark, Associate Dean for Scholarly Communication and Collections Services and Professor at the University of Denver, to receive the award for 2015.

For more than 15 years HARRASSOWITZ has sponsored this award, which is given annually to recognize the significant contributions by an outstanding leader in the field of acquisitions librarianship. According to the Acquisitions Section of ALCTS (Association for Library Collections & Technical Services), Mr. Levine-Clark's "contributions to the professional literature and leadership have led him to become internationally known as an expert in the area of print and electronic monographic acquisitions. His leadership on demand-driven acquisitions (DDA) and ebook purchasing models have been particularly influential, and have led to purchasing model developments that have been adopted by other librarians in the field." Furthermore, "He has also made a significant contribution to acquisitions librarianship through his editorial work."

HARRASSOWITZ is proud to provide the funding for this award and congratulates Mr. Levine-Clark on his achievement. The award will be presented on June 27 at the ALCTS Awards Ceremony during the 2015 American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference and Exhibition in San Francisco.

For more information on Mr. Levine-Clark's award, please see the ALCTS press release.
