The vote count was reported to SLA members in an emailed letter from SLA president Hildy Dworkin on 19 August. She noted that, in addition to the statutory dissolution, it includes the settlement of all remaining debts and the transfer of members and remaining assets to ASIS&T.
In my August ILI360 eNews article, "The flavours and futures of internationanl library associations", I observed that ASIS&T is a more international organisation than SLA, even though SLA has diligently supported its members outside North America for years. The 2025 ASIS&T annual conference will be held in Crystal City, Virginia USA (that's in the Washington DC area) 14-18 November and the 2026 ASIS&T annual conference will be in Bangkok, Thailand, 16-20 October.
I'll be at the ASIS&T conference for a few days before heading downtown to the KMWorld conference at the JW Marriot hotel in DC. I hope to see you at one of those conferences!
