UNESCO launches Global Open Access Portal

UNESCO's new portal to provide up-to-date information on OA in member states.

UNESCO has launched the Global Open Access Portal (GOAP) to provide a current overview of the status of open access to scientific information around the world.

The portal features 148+ country reports and links to over 2000 OA initiatives and projects in member states.

As well as country reports other features include: an assessment of barriers to OA in each country; a list of key organisations engaged in OA in member states; details of important OA publications; details of funding and deposit mandates.

The portal also highlights critical success factors and potential barriers and opportunities.
