UK: Digital skills shortage costing billions

A survey by the British Interactive Media Association (BIMA) puts a price on digital skills gap.

Of the 117 companies who completed the survey, 95% reported that digital talent shortages were holding back growth and 75% said finding the right people is the biggest challenge facing their business.

The roles that were most difficult to fill required:

  • coding skills (73%)
  • analytical skills (37%)
  • sales skills (31%)
  • visual arts skills (31%).

Based on these figures, BIMA estimates that its 281 member companies will lose out on nearly £445m revenue in the next two years.
