Tumblr to roll out instant messaging

Microblogging site Tumblr has begun to roll out an instant messaging feature.

The IM feature has begun a limited rollout to just 1500 accounts but all users will have access by the end of 2015.

The rolling out of instant messaging is expected to boost social engagement by encouraging more conversations between users.
