Secure sharing of health data

Jisc collaborating with UK universities.

Jisc is working with UK researchers to help them share sensitive health data safely and securely.

Jisc is supporting three new initiatives by helping to secure networks across and between the organisations so they can access the data they need – wherever it is stored.

The three projects are:

  • The Farr Institute of Health Informatics Research – a collaborative infrastructure for the safe use of patient and research data for medical research
  • Medical Bioinformatics - funded by the Medical Research Council, safe use and analysis of biological and patient data for medical research across all diseases.
  • The Administrative Data Research Network This network aims to facilitate access to and linkage of de-identified administrative data routinely collected by government departments and other public sector organisations.
