Project to digitise German-Jewish works

Collaboration between National Library of Jerusalem and Germany part of a 'legacy plan'.

The National Library of Jerusalem and the German government are collaborating to digitise materials documenting German-Jewish culture.

The joint project focuses on literature from the past thousand years which are now held at the National Library of Jerusalem and includes Hebrew manuscripts originally produced in Germany, as well as other rare Hebrew books and newspapers.

The works will be scanned in Jerusalem and German researchers will cooperate in the cataloguing of the materials.
