One million Euros made available for Open Access journals in Netherlands

The money has been made available by The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) as part of its Open Access (OA) policy.  NWO believes that 'open access publishing must become the norm', particularly when research has been publically funded. 

Academic researchers can apply for funding to set up an OA journal, or convert existing journal.  The deadline for applications is 4 October 2011.
