ORCID calls for community input

Working group collecting information about book publishing processes and workflows.

ORCID has now begun work on embedding its system in the book publication process.

A non-profit organisation, ORCID provides a registry of unique identifiers for researchers, ensuring that they can be linked to and recognised for their work.

ORCID has now set up a working group that will focus on book publishing workflows.  It is calling for inputs, questions and suggestions from members of the ORCID community including:

  • what are the common elements of book workflows across publishers? A
  • At what point in the process should validated ORCID iDs be introduced?
  • What are the challenges for large publishers vs small ones?
