In a survey of 8000 people in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the UK and the US who use the News Republic app, Mobiles Republic sets out to explore changes in news reading habits.  They discovered

Increasing use of social media for checking news - 43% use Facebook to check news – up 7% since 2012

Dramatic increase in use of aggregators – 73% say they use aggregators ‘intensively’ – up from 33% in 2012

More frequent checking of news – typically people are checking news more often and usually via mobile devices
