New educational opportunities from edX and 2U

The American Psychological Association (APA) and edX, a leading global online learning platform from 2U, Inc., announced APA as the newest member of the global edX partner network and the launch of its first Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).

The courses, delivered from APA's digital instructional resource PsycLearn Essentials, will promote the advancement, communication and application of psychological science and knowledge to over 46 million edX learners around the world. Courses will be available for enrolment in January 2023.

The first APA course being offered on edX is in Qualitative Research, a cornerstone of psychological research that is essential for understanding the social reality of individuals, groups and cultures. It will be followed by many other topics impacting and informing human behaviour and society, including Positive Psychology, Social Decision Making, Gender and Sexuality, and Stress and Health.

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and 2U are creating a new online master’s degree in applied data science available through the university’s new School of Data Science and Society. This is its fifth degree program developed with 2U, the university’s exclusive online program partner.

The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) launched two MicroBachelors programs, Statistics Fundamentals and Mathematics and Statistics Fundamentals as well as An Introduction to Pre-University Mathematics, its first Massive Open Online Course, in partnership with 2U.
