Netherlands: selective social media use

Researchers conclude users stay with an information 'routine'.

According to research from ING, Dutch internet uses are becoming more selective about the news services they consult and the social media they use.

The research shows that although Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter are still attracting more users, there is a rise in the number of inactive users.

Similarly, the number of people regularly using specialist news sites has declined in the las year.

The researchers conclude that more users are following a routine where they stick with the sources they know.
