The theme of this year’s International Open Access Week is ‘Designing Equitable Foundations for Open Knowledge.’
The International Open Access website is filled with details about events and initiatives scheduled to take place, as well as resources and media.
One of the resources universities will be using is a movie Paywall: The Business of Scholarship. The documentary focuses on the value of OA for research and science, questions the for-profit publishing models and includes 70+ interviews including representatives of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation; Wikipedia Library, publisher and universities.
