ISKO UK offers student grants

Research grant of up to £500 to cover the direct costs of projects that are relevant to knowledge organisation.


ISKO UK is the UK Chapter of ISKO, the International Society for Knowledge Organization. ISKO is a professional association dedicated to promoting the theory and practice of organising knowledge and information. One of its objectives is to "encourage and support the next generation of Knowledge Organization (KO) researchers and practitioners, with attention to continuing professional development as well as basic education and training". 

ISKO UK is offering a research grant of up to £500 for students starting their dissertation projects this summer.  The research grant is for direct costs of projects that are relevant to knowledge organisation. Relevant topics include: 

  • Knowledge organisation
  • Metadata
  • Indexing and tagging
  • Linked open data
  • Information architecture
  • Classification and taxonomies
  • Controlled vocabularies
  • Ontologies
  • Faceted classification
