Google launches Dataset Search

Dataset Search will surface content across the web.

Google Dataset Search (currently in beta) is a dedicated search site to help surface publicly available data published across the web.

The search tool scrapes government databases, public sources, digital libraries and personal websites. It also supports regular Google search shortcuts such as “site:”

Google has developed guidelines for dataset providers, guiding them in how to describe their data so that it can be surfaced by search engines.
