Germany: university to teach in English

Switch to English reflects need to 'publish in English' or 'perish in German'.

Germany’s Munich-based Technical University (TU) is planning to teach almost all of its Master’s programmes in English.  Almost a third of its Masters programmes are already taught in English and the switch is expected to be completed by 2020.

The President of the university said that the move will help prepare students for working in a global marketplace where "English is the lingua franca … of academia and the economy".  The move will also help attract the best students from around the world.
