Germany: new data law proposed

Proposed law will impact companies offering cloud storage solutions.


Politicians in Germany have proposed a new data law which will require IT companies to reveal proprietary data, including software source code information.

If made law, the move could affect companies offering cloud solutions which could potentially make data subject to US subpoenas via the Patriot Act. Amazon has recently opened two European data centres and Microsoft has announced it will let customers choose
