Germany: Google removes news snippets

In Germany, Google newspaper search results no longer feature 'snippets' of articles.

Germany collecting society, VG Media, which represents several German newspapers, has brought a copyright case against Google, claiming that publishers should be paid for the use of news snippets.

Although the case has not yet been decided, Google has now stopped including news snippets.  Search results now only show the headline and a link to the story.

The case will continue.
