An Amazon customer in Germany reported part of Amazon's terms of service which states that the retailer reserves the right "to withhold your services… close member accounts or remove or edit content….."
The regional court of Cologne has now ruled that this statement is illegal under German law, particularly as the statement is so broad and lacks any specific details as to why an account may be closed.
Amazon is yet to respond.
