French publishers sue Google

Three French publishers are suing Google for nearly 10 million euros.

The publishers (named by The Bookseller as Gallimard, Flammarion and Albin Michel) are suing Google for scanning almost 10,000 books without prior permission.

The publishers are reported to be demanding damages of €1,000 per title.
