France: ISP wants part of T-Mobile US

Broadband and mobile company Iliad wants to 'disrupt' more markets.

French broadband provider Iliad, which also owns Free Mobile, has made a surprise $15 billion bid for a majority stake in T-Mobile US.

In France the company has used its broadband network to severely undercut the three major mobile providers – and users have been migrating to Iliad’s Free Mobile in their millions.

Other companies are also interested in T-Mobile with reports of a possible merger with Sprint hitting the headlines earlier in the summer.
