Ebook readers sales predictions

Gartner predicts that worldwide sales of e-readers will total 6.6 million units by the end of 2010.


According to Gartner the popularity of ebook readers is due to their portability, long battery life and relatively inexpensive pricing.

Ebook readers are facing competition from tablet devices and Gartner's view is that consumers will be unlikely to buy both.  Ebook readers, therefore, need to maintain competitive pricing.
