E-book sales in the US decline

Latest figures for 2014 show 6% fall.

The figures from Nielsen are based on data from PubTrack Digital, which collects e-book sales information from 30 large publishers in the US.

Sales of e-books in 2014 fell from 240 million units in 2013 to 223million. The overall percentage of e-books against sales of books in all formats fell from 28% to 26%.

Adult fiction remains the most popular category for e-books.  Sales of e-books aimed at the juvenile market grew by 10% in 2014 yet e-books still only account for 15% of this category.
