Over 50% of young people admit to 'inappropriate' online activity.

To coincide with Safer Internet Day the BBC has released the results of research into the internet use of over 2,500 11- 16 year olds in the UK.

The results suggest that over 50% of young people have taken part in some form of inappropriate activity on the web.  This included accessing age-inappropriate content, being mean to other people, and inappropriate video/picture sharing.

Most of those who admitted to these activities said they had felt pressure to do so.  One in five of the respondents admitted they themselves had pressured others.
