Cambridge University Press: successful pilot of content sharing tool

Cambridge Core Share will now become a permanent feature of publisher's content platform.

After a successful pilot process, Cambridge Core Share will now become a permanent feature of Cambridge University Press’s online journal and books platform.

The tool, designed to make research more open and accessible, allows users to generate a link to a read-only version of an article which can be shared online, allowing anyone to read the final version of the article for free. Recent enhancements to the tool also allow users to create a pdf containing the link, making it easier to share links on scholarly collaboration networks.

More than 6,000 Core Share links have been generated by people around the world, resulting in almost 160,000 free-to-read views. Monthly views have grown to 14,000+. Over 250 journals have joined Cambridge Core Share and work is underway to increase this number.
