British Library and the National Library of China announce collaboration

Libraries are one of four key areas identified to help "enrich our cultures and pave the way for stronger economic growth and trade".


China and the UK are exploring ways in which the two countries can cooperate in fashion, sport, tourism and libraries.

The British Library and The National Library of China will be looking at potential collaborative projects which will include an exchange programme for librarians and cataloguers and the digitisation of rare items held at in the BL’s Chinese collections.
