Belgium sues Facebook

The Belgian privacy commission is taking Facebook to court.

Belgium’s privacy commission is taking the social media giant to court over alleged breaches of European and Belgian privacy laws.  In particular the Belgians have taken exception to Facebook’s practice of tracking visitors to the site who may not be Facebook members or who may have logged out. This means that Facebook is tracking people who have not ‘given consent’ to be tracked.

Facebook has stated it is "disappointed" with the move.
