Innovative information literacy

This year's LILAC (Librarians' Information Literacy Annual Conference) is being held in Dublin.

LILAC (Librarians’ Information Literacy Annual Conference) is one of the most exciting and prestigious international events in the information literacy calendar. The conference brims with fresh new ideas, innovative teaching techniques, inspiring speakers and exciting social events. It’s the one you don’t want to miss!

This year’s conference is hosted by University College Dublin, featuring dynamic keynotes from James Clay, Char Booth, Nicola Whitton and Alex Moseley and over 70 parallel sessions covering topics from research all the way through to library games. For the first time at LILAC we’ll be holding an interactive poster session, where delegates will get an opportunity to explore the content in new ways. We will also be launching the all new Lagadothon – a showcase of new innovations in IL – participants will showcase their innovations and compete to win funding for further development of their product, and our delegates get to vote for the winner!

On top of all this, delegates will have numerous opportunities to network with colleagues from many different library sectors in the UK, Ireland and the rest of the world. We have some stunning venues for our social events this year, with our networking evening taking place at the Chester Beatty Library, our inaugural LGBT+ social (all are welcome) and our gala conference dinner which will be held at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, at which we be announcing the winners of our Information Literacy Awards 2016.

For anyone with an interest in information literacy, LILAC is quite simply the place to be.

We look forward to welcoming you to Dublin! Fáilte roimh Dublin.
