Facebook facial recognition app – delayed in Europe

Regulatory concerns means Moments won't be rolled out to Europe.

Facebook has begun to roll out an app called Moments in the US which uses facial recognition to tag people in photographs.

However, reports are suggesting that regulatory concerns mean that the app will not be rolled out in Europe.  A major concern for regulators is that the app is opt out, rather than opt in resulting in the colletion of biometric data by default.
