UKeiG announces bursaries and awards for 2019

UKeiG, the UK electronic information Group, has developed a programme of awards and bursaries designed to encourage research, information exchange and best practice.


UKeiG’s programme has been designed to support the continuing professional development of library and information students and early career professionals, including:

UKeiG Early Career Award - the UKeiG Early Career Award celebrates extraordinary and inspirational enterprise in early-career professionals who are members of CILIP. Winners receive £1000 and a trophy (closing date is 31st May 2019).

MSc/MA Dissertation Bursaries - bursaries providing Library and Information Science MSc/MA students with opportunities to present their postgraduate research at a conference and/or to publish an article highlighting their postgraduate research activity. There an award available from each UK institution running courses accredited by CILIP.

Student or Early Career Professional Conference Bursaries - five discretionary bursaries of £250 to support current library and information students or early-career professionals to attend a relevant conference.

Study Visit Bursaries – five bursaries of £200 to support study visits by students or early career professionals.

A key criterion for all applications is some element of digital information or information science.  UKeiG bursaries are open to UK undergraduate and postgraduate students in UK schools or departments of librarianship, information studies, information science, knowledge management or information management running courses accredited by CILIP.
