Launch of the OAPEN Open Access Books Toolkit

A freely available toolkit helps academic book authors to better understand open access book publishing.

The OAPEN Foundation in The Hague launched a new OA books toolkit for researchers and academic book publishers. The toolkit, which is a free to access and stakeholder-agnostic resource, aims to help authors better understand OA for books, increase trust in OA book publishing, provide reliable and easy-to-find answers to author questions, and provide guidance on the publishing process.

The toolkit was created in collaboration with Springer Nature and the University of Glasgow. A global group of almost 70 stakeholders from the academic community and scholarly communications organizations were involved in writing the toolkit.

It will be updated on a regular bases by the Editorial Advisory Board. For more information and/or suggestions for further developing this resource, please contact Tom Mosterd, Community Manager, t.mosterd@oapen.org
