HARRASSOWITZ Accepting Applications for the 2014 Charleston Conference

May 6, 2014, Wiesbaden, Germany - HARRASSOWITZ, international booksellers and subscription agents, is pleased to offer once again a $1,000 scholarship to attend the Annual Charleston Conference that takes place November 5-8, 2014 in Charleston, SC. The scholarship is to be awarded to a librarian or paraprofessional who is currently working in a library and who has not yet attended a Charleston Conference.

Pursuant to the 2014 Charleston Conference theme of "The Importance of Being Earnest", applicants are asked to write an essay of no more than 1,000 words on the following topic:

            What does "The Importance of Being Earnest" mean to libraries and vendors?

Essays should be sent to scholarship@harrassowitz.de by July 19, 2014 and should be accompanied by a one-page resume. HARRASSOWITZ will notify the winner of the scholarship on July 31, 2014.

All applications will be acknowledged and will be reviewed by a panel of librarians. The scholarship must be used for the 2014 conference. Only applications from first-time Charleston attendees will be accepted.

All applicants will be notified of the results.
