UK: national data centre

Shared data centre for academic and medical research.

Jisc has announced the launch of a new shared data centre for medical and academic research in the UK.  The data centre has been funded by HEFCE, and will be provided by specialist firm Infinity.

The consortium is launching with six partners, including University College London and the Francis Crick Institute.

Jisc believes the data centre will allow the research community to share massive amounts of data and will contribute to improving the speed and quality of UK research.
